Lisesharte Atismata[]

Lisha and Lux

Lux and Lisha

The First Princess of the New Kingdom Atismata and Lux's friend and fellow classmate, later becoming one of his wives. In their initial encounter, Lux meets her when he saved her from the collapsing ceiling of the bathhouse, which he fell into from the roof. Unfortunately for him, he accidentally bumped into a naked Lisha that led to his temporary arrest under her decree. It also did not help that Lux saw the crest of the Old Empire burned on her naked stomach, which Lisesharte quickly covers. Lux then blurted out a pick-up line, which he learned from a bar owner during his time as a bar waiter, which flattered her but she still hated him for being still on top of her.

Due to the downfall of his former empire, Lux was initially belittled by Lisha and the two dueled in a mock duel, where they were interrupted by an Abyss but Lux managed to rescue her from harm. After the duel, Lux became the first person to see Lisha's Old Empire slave brand, garnering his sympathy. Nonetheless, both later become friends as they studied in the same class, Lisha later planning on having him act as her personal knight. During Velvet Barth's attempted rebellion, Lux protected Lisha from Velvet and defeated the usurpers easily. In the process, he exposed his secret identity as the Black Hero to Lisha but she kept it hidden from the public, further solidifying their bond. Lisha is also responsible for Lux's Drag-Ride's upgrades, including his Bahamut. He also said that it's okay if the people of their country or the people of the whole world would not accept him since he can fight as long as he has Lisha's acceptance.

She had a tsundere personality. Later, she gives the full story of her history, including the story behind the crest of the Old Empire burned below her stomach and above her bottom parts. It is pretty obvious that she has fallen in love with Lux, and the anime even goes as far as to suggest that she was "fantasizing" about Lux during her bath after their battle and the encounter with the abyss, when in truth, she was probably just touching her crest of the Old Empire.

Overall, she seemed to treat him as her plaything while trying to hide the true nature of her feelings towards him, revealing more of her tsundere personality. For example, she asks Lux to become her "exclusive personal assistant." But to show her delicate and vulnerable (love) side with her emotions towards Lux, she does not seem to mind showing "indecency" to Lux. For example, when her, Philuffy, and Tillfur dress as maids in order to please him, she says that she wouldn't mind if Lux asked her to do things that were "indecent," which Lux promptly turns down the offer. She blames this information on Tillfur, but it is prominent that she was comfortable doing it for Lux, and could even be extended to that she wanted to do it.

Although she denies it many times, she was often seen to be very jealous whenever other girls approached Lux. For example, she completely disapproved of Lux's relationship with Philuffy, and was visibly upset she saw through the window Krulcifer making out with Lux.

In Volume 18, Lisha discovers the "betrayal" of Lux and tries to eliminate him, convinced that he is an impostor. While she is going to launch a suicide attack, Lux confesses his feelings and she returns to her senses.

By Volume 20, Lisha agrees with Krulcifer on Lux's harem and is the first one to support Krulcifer, despite wanting Lux for herself.

Krulcifer Einfolk[]

Lux and Krulcifer

Lux and Krulcifer.

A mysterious noblewoman who hailed from Einfolk House of the Ymir Theocracy. She captured Lux after the bath incident. She then took notice of the fact that he carries two Sword Devices, and that one, in particular, is black, prompting her suspicions towards Lux as the Black Hero. During his welcoming party game, Lux hid inside the girls changing room where he accidentally saw Krulcifer in her underwear, but she also took advantage of the situation to make him serve her for a week. During the week, Lux had to be Krulcifer's "boyfriend" in an attempt to remove herself from the interest of suitors set up by her adoptive family. During a mission to the Ruin Garden, Lux learned the truth about Krulcifer being one of the Ruin's few survivors but that doesn't stop him from protecting her from harm. This became more evident during his later duel against Balzeride for her sake. Since then, Lux has become Krulcifer's tease subject and love interest.

The Einfolk Household initially had a poor first impression toward Lux (by this time the Seven Dragon Paladin representing The New Kingdom). After Mel Gizalut kissed Lux's cheek, she then explained the Einfolk Household's decision about the engagement. Even though they scolded Krulcifer because of her awful prank, the Household praised her for choosing Lux to be the candidate and they now approve of the two having a relationship.

Over time, Lux has started developing feelings for Krulcifer and confessed to her that he also loves her as a man before kissing her. While Krulcifer was greatly happy by this. Lux finds out that he is now Krulcifer's fiancè on episode 5, on the episode Krulcifer kisses him several times and tells him that they can continue this further if they get married. On episode 10 of the anime series Krulcifer asks him to kiss her and when he does she says the feeling was completely different this time.

In Volume 20, Krulcifer is the one who first gives Lux the idea of a harem. By the end of the series, she becomes one of Lux's wives.

Philuffy Aingram[]

Phi and lu

Lux and Philuffy.

Lux's childhood friend and fellow classmate in the Royal Officer Academy. Seven years ago, Lux met Philuffy and played a lot together because of the Aingram House's association with Lux's mother. Due to that relationship, especially when Philuffy was one of very few who sympathized with Lux after his mother's death, Lux and Philuffy have a very close relationship together. They usually address themselves via their nicknames: "Lu-chan" and "Phi-chan". Additionally, Philuffy was the reason Lux staged a coup against his very own country, as he wanted to prevent her becoming one of Old Empire's experimental subjects.

Next to his little sister, Philuffy is perhaps the most important person in Lux's life. Her existence has served as moral reminder of everything Lux fights for. On two different occasions where Philuffy life was threatened, Lux was able to use Bahamut Over Limit. Over time, Lux came to love Philuffy in the same way she loves him. Philuffy is now also one of his wifes.

Philuffy also gives courage to Lux while fighting The King of Vices, Calensia.

By Volume 20, Philuffy becomes one of Lux's wives.

Celistia Ralgris[]

Celes and Lux

Celis and Lux.

The academy's strongest student and one of Four Great Noble's prestigious member, who was also infamous for hating men. Unlike most students, Celis strongly opposed Lux's enrollment in the academy at first, despite him saving the students during her absence. Lux interacted with Celis under his cross-dressing moniker as Luno, at one point going shopping and having a picnic together. He realized that she is a normal girl behind her proud demeanor, and her "man-hating" reputation was actually due to her lack of interaction with men aside from her father. In a mock duel between both Lux and Celis, which is later interrupted by both Poseidon and Heiburg Republic's plot (with Celis' friend Saniya being revealed as a spy), Lux protected Celis from harm while learning that his grandfather's (Wade Roadbelt) died as an unintended consequence of Celis's actions. He forgave Celes and claimed that he would never hate her.

Since becoming friends, Lux would often try to help Celis with her social awkwardness. During the festival, Lux and Celistia go on a date. After he joined the Seven Dragon Paladins, she became his aid in order to help him to the best of her abilities and to be closer to him. Over time, Lux came to trust and treasure Celis, thus he still tends to get bothered by her lack of social awareness at times. During the first day of New Years parade, Lux accidentally overheard Celis practicing saying she loves him. This caused him to realize he also loves her as a man and would confess to her on the third night, asking her if she would become betrothed to him. She agreed but because of the time loop, both of them end up forgetting this. Nevertheless, Lux still knows he loves Celis, but after the events of Volume 18, the memory comes back to her. In the end of the series,Celistia becomes one of Lux´s wifes.

By volume 20, Celistia becomes one of Lux's wives.

Yoruka Kirihime[]

The most powerful drag-knight known as the assassin dagger of the Arcadia Empire. When they met, she presented herself to Lux as his subordinate and said she would help him destroy the New Kingdom Atismata, which he did not want to do. Although disappointed with his response, she assures that she is his servant and will do what is possible for the Old Empire to revive as part of her contract with the Arcadia Empire.

During the events of volume 5, Yoruka tried to serve Lux in various ways, such as taking care of him in the middle of classes or even bathing with him, making him embarrassed by her actions. When the two spoke privately about why she tried to make him become the new emperor of the Old Empire, Yoruka tells her story about her origin as a princess of the country of Koto. In the past the Arcadia Empire destroyed Koto while capturing her younger brother who was then the king. To save his life she promised to work as an assassin for the Old Empire, but several of her brother's servants betrayed him by killing the king and giving his head to protect their own lives. Lux apologizes to her for what the Old Empire did and tells her that because it was destroyed she no longer has to serve him but she denies it and affirms that since he is a member of the royal family she is determined to make him an emperor no matter what she has to do. Yoruka secretly works for Hayes who decides to use the Gigas ruin in order to destroy the New Kingdom to resurrect the Old Empire, realizing the actions of Hayes, Lux and the members of Silvalles decide to stop her. When Lux and Yoruka have their second confrontation she tells him that because he is determined not to become the new emperor of the Old Empire she will make Airi Arcadia the new empress. Confused as to why Yoruka goes so far because of her old contract with the Arcadia Empire she tells him that she does not do it out of malice but because since she was a child she has never had emotions, her only reason for living is to follow orders regardless of who her master is. She swore allegiance to the Old Empire for the life of her brother, and even though he has been killed is willing to follow her contract to the end.

The two have an intense fight with Lux admiring Yoruka's skills and vice versa but after a long battle, Lux is victorious. When she falls from one of Gigas's shoulders where they were fighting, she prepares to die but Lux the saves her. Confused by his action, she asks why he saved her. Lux responds saying that he wanted to change the Old Empire to save it and failed to do so, leaving him no choice but to destroy it to protect the life of his sister. He regretted that he could not save anyone else from the Old Empire, but because she, even if it was through a contract she was a member of the Arcadia empire, he could save at least one Arcadian life. Yoruka realizes that Lux destroyed the Arcadia empire to save him and after that In defeat, Lux tries to stop the Gigas ruin but he is very weak and when he believes that everything was lost, Yoruka appears and destroys the automaton that was controlling the Ruin.

A few days after saving the capital from Hayes's attack, she appears to Lux saying that now her objective is to serve him in his desire to protect the New Kingdom Atismata. It is hinted that she has feelings for Lux, offering to "take care of him at night". Yoruka becomes one of Lux´s wifes at the final of the series.

Triad[]

Lux and the Triad have mutual respect for one another. The Triad are usually friendly with Lux after his enrollment into the academy. They even brought gifts for him while he was in the hospital, which he later repaid them by buying them gift afterwards. Lux trusts them enough to asks them for help when he went to fight Balzeride Kreutzer, even revealing his identity as the Black Hero. However, like most of the girls at the academy, the Triad don't mind making Lux perform requests for them. One request involving Lux having to wear a girl's uniform during a watch-out, excusing it as for the sake of the academy and not for their personal interest (which it was). While the Triad don't seem to hold any romantic feelings for Lux, they enjoy teasing him about how popular he is and the situations he gets into with the other girls.

In the light novels, The trio gradually start to slowly have romantic feelings towards Lux and it starts turning into love after he repeatedly saves the trio. The trio themselves try to hide their feelings from Lux but each expresses them in their own manner whenever Lux does something that attracts them, with Shalice shoving Lux's head under her arm and into the side of her breasts, Noct joking about telling Airi about Lux being a philanderer and Tillfur playing a prank on Lux. Lux himself starts to slowly reciprocate these feelings after he learns just how much effort the trio is putting in to support his chore habits, with Sharis keeping all the audacious girls at bay, Tillfur planning his schedule and Noct doing radar duty every time he takes a bath to make sure he is not assaulted.

Shalice manages to confess her feelings to Lux, but their conversation is interrupted before Lux can give his reply.

It’s revealed that Tillfur also loves him during a talk between the three.

Noct confessed her love feelings for Lux to his sister Airi.

Relie Aingram[]

The Royal Officer Academy's principal who is also Philuffy's older sister and Lux's acquaintance. Due to a longtime friendship between the Arcadia and Aingram families, even after the former's downfall via a coup, Lux was spared from his imprisonment and he joined the Royal Officer Academy under Relie's recommendation. At times, Lux is bothered by her attempts to push him into a relationship with her little sister.

Family[]

Airi Arcadia[]

Brother and sister

Lux and Airi.

Airi is Lux's younger sister and one of his surviving siblings following the fall and demise of the Old Empire. Lux took care of her when their mother died. Due to her unknown illness, Lux is willing to do anything for her sake even when he had to be chore prince for the kingdom. However, his selflessness and benevolence worries Airi as she view that his very attributes would cause him into some troubles that even nearly endanger his life. Additionally, Airi is among the few who knows Bahamut's strength and weaknesses.

There are indications that she does not only like him as a brother.

Aeril Vi Arcadia[]

Aeril is Lux's distant relative. Over 1000 years ago, Arcadia house was divided into the main family and the branch family, with Aeril being part of the main family. The branch family (who were Lux's ancestors) rebelled and overthrew the main family, with Aeril (along with her sisters) among the last survivors.

Aeril was initially disguised as Coral Esther, an aide of Greifer Nest from the Vanheim Principality. At first sight, Lux somehow got attracted to her. As Coral, she aided Lux a lot during his position as one of the Seven Dragon Paladins because she viewed him as a kind, upright, and strong boy.

During the Holy Arcadia Empire Arc, Lux was betrayed by Aeril when the latter captured him and his fellow Seven Dragon Paladins for the Holy Arcadia Empire. In the same arc, she was also given a "right" to use Lux by her elder sister Listelka who then noticed her little sister's affection towards him. As the story progresses, however, Aeril eventually turned against her sisters and aided Lux in his battle against her former allies.

In volume 17 she explains to Almatea that Lux is the man she loves.

Seven Dragon Paladins[]

Magialca Zen Vanfrick[]

The captain of the Seven Dragon Paladins and Philuffy martial art master. She often enjoys flirting with Lux because his childish features are to her taste. This has made him wary of her in a different way from Singlen. Nevertheless, the two have a mutual respect for each other's abilities and judgement.

Singlen Shelbrit[]

V6 Singlen Shelbrit V.S

Lux vs. Singlen.

The vice captain of the Seven Dragon Paladins and also Lux's rival. Despite being fellow Dragon Paladins who have survived Baptism and having a mutual hatred towards Fugil, they have conflicting ideologies. Whilst Lux wishes to save everyone he holds dearly, Singlen on the other hand wishes to rule the world through apathy towards others. For the most part, their hatred against each other are mutual: Lux loathes Singlen due to his use of amoral methods for his own gain, whilst Singlen belittles Lux for the former prince's naivete in keeping his dream alive. Nevertheless, though, Lux is respected as a worthy warrior by Singlen.

In Volume 14, both Lux and Singlen had to work together in order to stop the Holy Arcadia Empire from invading Avalon, only for them to turn against each other when Singlen betrayed Lux during their mission. Lux collapsed against Singlen, whereas Singlen only got injured and still had a capability to continue to fight. The Avalon's system then teleported both of them as they had run out of time to enter the center of Avalon. After that, Singlen already predicted the other side, Fugil was getting confronted against the remaining forces and their battle had not end yet. He had asked Lux for preparation beforehand about how to unleash the hidden code of Over Limit. Singlen then left Lux whom completely collapsed, and had his body carried by Lolotte Cadius.

Mel Gizalut[]

Mel Mel immediately began to make very embarrassing jokes to Lux.despite this they are good friends and she calls him "onii-chan" (big brother). She also flirts openly with him, although it is surely to annoy krulcifer. At the end of Volume 7 she kisses him on the cheek and thanks him for saving her life

Greifer Nest[]

The representative of the Vanheim Principality. At first, Greifer was hostile towards Lux because of a misunderstanding on his part. When they met again in the Vanheim Principality, Greifier recognize this and admitted he doesn't have any direct resentment towards Lux. During that time, Lux realized Greifer was good at looking after others despite his sulky behavior. The two are similar in regards to how they were born to nobles but lost their stature at a young age, had worked hard to to get where are and become favor by their respected country's princess. Greifer has since become one of Lux few male friends (even through Greifer won't admit it) and can work well together as fellow members of the Seven Dragon Paladins.

Rosa Granhide[]

Originally Rosa despised Lux and she confronted him twice: in a duel and in a match to the death. But after Lux decided to spare her despite her crimes and suplicates of heiburgic citizens, and he discovered the true nature of the king of vices, she developed strong feelings of love for him.

In volume 18 she will even go to bed naked with Lux under the pretext of warming him while he was wounded

Soffice Xfer[]

Initially Lux and Soffice interacted very little. But after he has been used as a goelier and accidentally seen urinating she hates him. However she changes her mind about him after watching him fight and listen to what his friends think of him: realizing he's not like the Arcadia who killed her sister. Both are now good friends

Kilzrake Family[]

Almatea Atismata[]

Almatea Atismata or Alma Kilzrake is an Ex-ranked Drag-Knight affiliated to Kilzrake Family. After her abduction, she loathed her sister and the rest of her family. She remained unknown up to Ouroboros Arc when she infiltrated new kingdom.

During Aeril's rescue operation in Garden, Almatea was bewildered that there were two identical divine drag rides which was impossible to happen. She then developed admiration toward Lux whom is like her ideal figure, the Black Hero.

Rivals and Enemies[]

Velvet Barth[]

The former general of the Old Empire who attempted to destroy the New Kingdom.

Balzeride Kreutzer[]

A prestigious noble who hailed from the Kreutzer House of the New Kingdom's Four Great Nobles. Upon their initial meeting, Lux was belittled by Balzeride and he was challenged to a duel to win Krulcifer's heart, which Krulcifer accepted on his behalf. In Lux's perspective, Balzeride was no different to the Old Empire's corrupted aristocrats mostly because he (Balzeride) viewed women as mere tools. In the fated duel, Lux had a rough battle against Balzeride because of the latter's Divine Drag Ride Aži Dahāka's ability that absorbed Bahamut's ability (Reload On Fire), though the latter ultimately prevailed.

Fugil Arcadia[]

Fugil met Lux seven years ago as a older-half brother. He was Lux's instructor who taught him how to use Drag-Rides. Prior to his parents' passing, Lux was under Fugil's care and the two could often seen together. Fugil helped Lux in his ambition to try to change the Empire and was later a conspirator in Lux's plan to end the Empire with little death. Fugil also gave Lux Bahamut to use against the Empire's 1,200 Drag-Rides. After the coup however, Lux was belittled by Fugil and he was deemed as the weakest and unfit to rule the fallen kingdom, which was now ruled by the Atismata House. In order to pursue Fugil, Lux dedicated himself to becoming stronger. As Fugil is partly responsible for the burden Lux and his sister have had placed on them, and because he betrayed Lux, Lux desires vengeance against him. The antagonism between two rivals becomes even increasingly intense when Lux eventually learns about the truth about Fugil.

After his motive was unraveled, Lux becomes hungry to learn the truth of Fugil's mission. Fugil estimates Lux has qualification and caliber to be the king. However he is disappointed when his offer was refused by Lux.

Hayes Vi Arcadia[]

Heiburg Republic's tactician who appeared to be Lux's fellow Arcadia House member as the Second Princess, although Lux himself had no recollection about her prior to the Old Empire's downfall. In their first encounter, Lux almost mistook her as Fugil for which she mocked him. In Volume 13, Lux reunited with Hayes and he was nearly tortured by her during his abduction alongside with his fellow Dragon Paladins by the Holy Arcadia Empire.

In the anime adaptation, instead of Lisha, Lux was the one who defeated and killed Hayes during her attempted conquest of the New Kingdom.

Ragreed Forus[]

Lux's former friend and one of many former noblemen of the fallen Arcadia Empire. Unlike Lux who revolted against Old Empire for a noble cause, Lagreed sought to be a "future" emperor in order to fulfill his selfish desire, especially enslaving women under his will. However, not even his empowered Drag-ride from the Ruins could defeat Lux's Bahamut's form.

Count Atismata[]

He once admired Count Atismata as someone who was able to bring peace to New Kingdom. Fugil and Lux also had tied an alliance to overthrow the Old Empire. However, he was killed because of Raffi Atismata had leaked information to Waybra Hemt before the war cry started. Lux did not know about this until Fugil came to the palace. After his memories five years ago recovers, Fugil once told him that he had known what he would do if he really succeeded the throne. Count Atismata had had a plan to sentence Lux and Airi to death after the war ended. He then can know everything about him from Fugil.

Dragon Marauders[]

Lux has had to fight the forces of the marauding dragons many times. And is partly responsible for their weakening. He ends up fighting against their three chief and two Ragnarock; Despite the divine arm of hydra he wins following the Old Empire collapse. Raffi was one of the few people who knew the truth about Lux and assisted him by keeping the fact that he was the Black Hero a secret. Lux likewise respected Raffi and did his best to help her and the New Kingdom. In return, Raffi came to hold Lux in high regard for everything he has done.

Unfortunately for Lux, his relationship with Queen Raffi became complicated after he realized that she had accepted the help of Fugil and started using the power of Avalon to maintain the New Kingdom. While Lux seriously wished to support Queen Raffi and Lisha in protecting the New Kingdom, he couldn't accept Fugil's method nor turn a blind eye to him. After speaking with Magialca about why he originally started a revolution against the Old Empire in the first place, Lux resolved himself to defeat Fugil, bring an end to Avalon and save the New Kingdom without killing Queen Raffi.

Queen Raffi likewise realized that Lux had become her enemy despite the lack of evidence that could prove he was behind Aeril's rescue. Unlike most of Lux's past enemies, Queen Raffi knew how powerful of a threat Lux really is and refused to underestimate him. Furthermore, she understood she couldn't simply kill Lux because of how important he has become for the New Kingdom and tried to limit his movements by using the girls to keep watch over him. This lead Lux to see her as a formidable foe since she was making best use of everything she had and was taking extra precaution to ensure her victory, such as sending Philuffy, Lux's precious childhood friend, against him knowing full well he could never abandon her and might create an opening.

Wives & Concubines[]

It is revealed at the end of the series that Lux is getting married. He married Lisesharte Atismata, Krulcifer Einfolk, Philuffy Aingram, Celistia Ralgris and Yoruka Kirihime. The Triad and Airi Arcadia are being qualified to be Lux's concubines while some other girls are thinking of joining the harem. Aeril was considered to be qualified to be a wife as well, but she declines to become one and decides to wait until Lux's rule the king over.
